Instrument Electrician
Annual base salary (while in Australia)
$61,123 pa ($2,343 per fortnight before tax)
In addition whilst working in Antarctica an allowance of $49,014 pa is payable.
As the Instrument Electrician you're responsible for installation, testing, programming, and commissioning equipment associated with the Building Monitoring and Control System (BMCS).
Additionally, you'll conduct annual maintenance tasks associated with the BMCS and assist station staff in BMCS use and operation.
The role also involves investigating problems with instruments and sensors, carrying out programming and configuration changes plus investigating and recommending system improvements with particular emphasis on energy efficiency.
You're also required to prepare and submit fortnightly reports and assist in science programs when necessary.
You will possess an A Grade Electrical licence and demonstrate extensive, relevant experience in the industrial instrumentation area. A certificate in Electrical Instrumentation will be highly regarded.
The typical employment period for Instrument Electricians is approximately 15 months.
Recreation Leave - You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days for each full year worked. Please note that recreation leave is not available in Antarctica.
Superannuation - A generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will apply where eligibility to join the Public Sector Superannuation Accumulation Plan is established.
